There is continued interest in new residential and mixed construction in Charlotte. The planned growth of the Charlotte Light Rail has created several projects all along the proposed route of the Blue Line extension east of uptown.

Roberta Fuchs of The Mecklenburg Times reports several rezoning requests:

Hotel near Northlake Mall
Large residential subdivision on David Cox Road
264 apartments at the southeast corner of East 10th Street and eigle Ave.
180 apartments in NoDa, along with 15,000 square feet of retail and amenities
344 apartments and 30,000 square feet of retail in a warehouse between East 35th and East 36th streets.
Two separate townhome projects of 32 unites on Central Ave and Plaza Midwood
The Charlotte City Council will hold public hearings over the next several months to review these zoning requests.
